The Vice-Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria in Rivers State, Tochukwu Nwanne, has blamed the fuel scarcity in Port Harcourt on panic buying and the shortage of "pure" petroleum products in the state.
Mr Nwanne stated this on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire while giving reasons why queues have surfaced at filling stations in and around Port Harcourt.
He told Enoh Ogbevire that due to the ‘dirty’ fuel which was discovered recently and had to be mopped up, most petrol stations in Port Harcourt and its environs are now either running out of clean stock or are stuck with the bad products.
He also believes the attitude of Nigerians has triggered panic buying in Rivers State.
