The Rivers APC Governorship Campaign Council Spokesperson, Mr Sogbeye Eli has described the current political atmosphere in Rivers state as tragic.
Mr Sogbeye made the statement on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, following a reported explosion at the APC campaign rally in Port Harcourt Local Government area in the state which left some persons injured.
Mr Sogbeye also condemned a statement by the Rivers State Police Command about the incident. He claims the command is yet to carry out a proper investigation.
Meanwhile the Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko earlier denied there was an explosion at the venue of the APC rally yesterday. Iringe-koko said the incident was a dispute between two factions of the Rumuwoji community development committee, CDC who own the playground rented by the APC for the campaign.
The Rivers APC Governorship Campaign Council Spokesperson who insisted there was an explosion at the venue, alleged the attack was sponsored by the ruling opposition party in the state.
