Zoning Crisis: How PDP, Atiku Can Appease South East

Head Of News, Nigeria Info FM, Ufuoma Egbamuno, has advised the Peoples Democratic Party and Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar on the best way to go after the party reportedly threw their Presidential ticket open.

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party is currently battling a crisis after abandoning zoning agreements ahead of 2023.

Igbo socio-cultural, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has kicked out saying the move deprives the South, particularly the Southeast, of the ticket.

In agreement with Ohanaeze, Egbamuno said the PDP got rid of zoning because having a northern candidate like Atiku would give the party its best chance of regaining power.

Nevertheless, he recommended that if Atiku is elected, he should promise to serve just one term, with Obi as his vice-president. Obi will then be able to run for president in 2027.

He believes this may not appeal to all, but at least some agitated parties.
