Public affairs analyst, Jimi Disu says it’s "suicidal" whichever way the Federal Government swings in the decision over the removal of petrol subsidy.
Disu expressed this view after the Minister Of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, confirmed the suspension of any plan to subsidise the price of fuel coming into the country.
Explaining further, Jimi Disu believes that choosing to keep paying the subsidy means the government will keep looking for money to sustain it.
Also, if the federal government stopped paying subsidy, it will be a mess politically for whoever the President supports to run for the Presidency in 2023.
Disu also spoke about the only solution to the problem and the proposed strike by the National Labour Congress (NLC) over the same issue.
