The Rivers State Director of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, Young Ayo-Tamuno, has called on those planning a nationwide protest to exercise patience with the government.
Speaking on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, Mr Ayo-Tamuno urged residents of Rivers State not to participate in the protest against economic hardship scheduled for August 1, 2024.
He highlighted several measures the government has taken to address Nigerians' economic challenges. According to Mr Ayo-Tamuno, the government has shown its responsiveness through various legislations passed by the National Assembly to ease the cost of living.
The NOA state director pointed out that these measures include the review of the national minimum wage, provision of crude oil to the Dangote refinery in naira, and ongoing recruitment into the police force.
Mr Ayo-Tamuno encouraged Nigerians to give the federal government more time to fulfil all its commitments.
