President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday night broke his silence on the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill of 2021, as he withheld his assent over certain reasons.

Buhari mentioned some of his concerns, which included the high cost of conducting direct primaries, the security challenge of monitoring the election, violation of citizens’ rights, and marginalization of small political parties.

Following the President’s decision, there is an option open to the national assembly of vetoing the President and assenting to the bill. But will they do that?.

Public Affairs analyst, Jimi Disu believes it is impossible. Speaking with Sheriff Quadry on Morning Crossfire, Disu said that the national assembly won’t, implying that they are a rubber stamp to the present administration. Watch full analysis below>>>
