The Professional E-hailing drivers and Private Owners Association (PEDPA) has described LagosRide as a “welcome development”.
In February, Governor Sanwo-Olu unveiled Lagos Ride; a ride-hailing service within Lagos, with 1000 cars to ease transportation in the state.
According to the state government, the driver/operator of the car will have right to own the vehicle after payment is fully made within 3-4 years.
PEDPA President, Comrade Idris Sonuga, noted on Morning Crossfire that this along with other benefits, will meet many challenges facing E-hailing drivers and by extension, customers
He explains tighter security measures and lower fares as other benefits of this service.
In contrast, an anonymous caller claiming to be a transport expert opposed the idea behind LagosRide.
His view is that it is a political ploy, and the Lagos government is wasting money on it.
