The last has not been heard of the killing of Deborah Samuel, the second-year student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, who was mobbed and burned to death on Friday for alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad.

As an inquest into the incident continues, the call for a stop to the killing of individuals on religious and ethnic grounds couldn't be any louder.

Addressing the religious differences that could challenge the collective peace of Nigeria formed the hub of the conversation on the Sunny Side with Joyce Onyemuwa.

What must be done to correct the ideologies that spark unlawful religious killings? Joyce asked.

Identifying the cause of this particular killing must be uncovered first, noted one caller.

For him, "they (people in that region) need education."

"The influx of radical Islam mixed with illiteracy is what is killing them over there," he added.

That, however, is not the singular problem and solution to this deeply rooted problem.

Watch the video for more suggestions on how to deal with the menace of unlawful religious killings.
