Corporal Punishment On Toddlers: Caller Blames Parents and Teacher

An anonymous caller has said parents, not just teachers, should be blamed for incidents of brutalization of toddlers in schools.

She said this after a teacher allegedly flogged a 19-month-old pre-Nursery pupil, Obinna Udeze, to death in Delta State

This incident coincides with the flogging of another student, Cherish Ohamadike, a two-year-old pupil by a teacher in her school in Lagos.

But this caller, speaking on Morning Crossfire, says we can’t blame the teachers alone as the parents are guilty of enrolling children who are not old enough to be in school.

“Why take a child of two years to Montessori? What will she learn?,” she asked.
