Constitutional Amendment: Wemimo Adewuni Rips NASS over Anti-Women Resolutions

Morning Crossfire host, Wemimo Adewuni has expressed disappointment at the National Assembly over its failure to pass bills that would have guaranteed more political representation for women in the country.

Adewuni’s criticisms come after the two chambers of the National Assembly rejected five bills relating to women during the constitution review exercise.

One of the rejected bills included special additional seats for women in National and State Parliaments.

But the Morning Crossfire host argues that these additional seats should not be much of a problem since women will still have to seek elections into those positions.

“You have to create a line for women to contest. They are not asking you to dash them political positions. They can hold their own.

“This shows you that in a male-dominated legislature, this is how they think. They overwhelmingly voted against women and this is for me very worrisome, she added”

Adewuni further gave a Nigeria Info example to explain her point. Watch below>>
