2023: Wilcox Takes Swipe At South-East Over Outcome of PDP Primaries

Public Affairs Analyst, Alesta Wilcox says it’s a shame that the people of the South-East did not secure a spot in the PDP Presidential race. This is despite complaining of marginalization.

Wilcox made this statement on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire with Sheriff Quadry.

He said that South-Easterners should have given their votes to aspirants Sam Ohuabunwa and Anyim Pius Anyim who are both from the region.

Although this may not have won them the position, it would have made a powerful statement that the South-East is not a conquest region for politicians, Wilcox said.

“You had 91 votes to make a statement. It’s unfortunate that the zone has limited numbers of delegate votes, but that statement would have resonated in the facts that we are serious in what we are doing.”

Recall that both Pius Anyim and Ohuabunwa received fourteen and one votes, respectively, in the recently concluded PDP presidential primaries.
