As part of the ongoing Urban renewal Project in Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the construction of an Ultra-modern Central Motor Park in the state capital, Gasau.

According to a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the contract was approved after the council meeting with the Zamfara State Executives at the government house, Gusau.

“The council approved the award of the contract for the construction of the Ultra-modern Central Motor Park to Fieldmark Construction Ltd, amounting to N4,854,135,954.53”.

Idris says the construction of the park is a “crucial component” of the state's Urban Renewal Program and will “significantly enhance the state's transport infrastructure and service delivery”.

He adds that the project is to be jointly funded various ministries while its execution will be supervised by the Ministry of works and infrastructure.

“The project is to be jointly funded by the Ministry for Local Government and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Tourism”

“The Ministry of Works has already designed and developed an in-house bill for the project and submitted it to the State Bureau of Public Procurement, which has provided no objections to the proposal”.

Idris noted that the Central Motor Park will accommodate the “construction of offices for government and union use, establishment of a fire station, construction of guest lodges, development of a clinic, setting up of a police station, creation of a warehouse, installation of a POS centre, and establishment of a mechanical centre and car wash”.
