The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has urged the federal government to evolve policies to uplift the living standards of workers and the less privileged.

This is coming as Nigerians celebrate Workers’ Day.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the party’s acting national publicity secretary, Muhammad Ishaq, pushed for implementing a ‘living wage’, enhanced social protection, and investments in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

“The PRP extends its heartfelt solidarity to the hardworking men and women of Nigeria on the occasion of the workers’ day celebration,” he wrote.

“As we mark this year’s workers’ day, we recognize the importance of the day and acknowledge the immense contributions of workers to the growth and development of our nation.

“The party acknowledges the challenges faced by workers and the masses such as low wages, poor working conditions, unemployment, and general lack of social protection.”

Ishaq also urged organized labor to continue advocating for workers’ rights and collaborate with the government to pursue their objectives.

“Together, we shall build a nation where the dignity of labor is truly valued and all citizens have equal opportunities to thrive,” he said.
