President Bola Tinubu wants the Senate to approve a $7.8 billion and another €100 million borrowing plans one day after seeking the National Assembly’s approval of a N2.18 trillion Supplementary Budget.
The president’s request is contained in a letter to the Senate and read during the plenary on Wednesday by the President of the Senate, GodsWill Akpabio.
In the letter, President Tinubu explained that the request was anchored on an approval for a project given by the Muhammadu Buhari administration during a Federal Executive Council meeting on 15 May 2023.
He said the project cuts across all sectors of the Nigerian economy with specific emphasis on infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, water supply, security, and employment.
