Super Eagles Set to Board Flight Back to Nigeria

The Super Eagles players and officials are finally set to depart Libya after enduring over 14 hours of mistreatment from the host country on Sunday. 

This update was shared by the team captain, William Troost- Ekong.

He wrote in an X post, “Power of social media. Apparently our plane is being fueled as we speak and we should be leaving to Nigeria shortly. Thanks for everyone’s support!

The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa also confirmed this develepment via her X handle.

She wrote, “Super Eagles team now boarding . Journey mercies to all of them.”

The Nigerian team had earlier been stranded when Libyan authorities reportedly refused to grant their chartered flight permission to refuel and return to Nigeria.
