The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has urged manufacturers to get their products certified through the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP).
Presenting MANCAP credentials to four companies in Ilorin on Wednesday, SON's Director of Human Resources, Engr. Timothy Abner explained that certification was a legal program designed for Nigerian manufacturers.
It would enable customers to know if a product has the minimal needed quality.
Engr. Abner said SON was now required to ensure the legislation was followed, and that certification would allow customers
“The program is to recognize those that are abiding by the law and consistently showing that they are operating according to standard, as well as encourage other manufacturers,” he said.
The four certified firms certified this week are Muhrima Bildej, B&Q Ventures, LUBCON, and HMA.
