Dana Air announced it has disengaged some of its workers amid an ongoing operational audit of the airline.

The airline released a statement on Saturday, informing the public that the disengagement concerned a 23 April incident where a plane on its fleet veered off the runway while landing at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos.

This caused the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority to suspend Dana Air’s operations the following day and kicked off a probe into the incident.

The airline’s corporate communications manager, Kingsley Ezenwa, said Dana Air decided to temporarily disengage some staff while the audit is on.

“The audit, currently underway, is a collaborative effort between Dana Air and the authorities to ensure compliance with all necessary standards and regulations,” he wrote in a statement.
