President Bola Tinubu is fine after he slipped while boarding the parade vehicle at the 2024 Democracy Day event, the presidency has confirmed.
The incident occurred shortly after the president arrived at Eagles Square in Abuja, the venue for the program. He momentarily lost his footing as he was about to step onto the vehicle but quickly regained his balance.
The Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, stated in a post on X, "Mr. President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues."
The event at Eagles Square was one of several activities organized to celebrate the country’s Democracy Day.
