It was a sober atmosphere at the AIM Plaza, Abuja as the management and staff of Info FM Limited, owners of Nigeria Info FM 95.1 Abuja station honored its late staff, Deborah Ohamara, over the weekend.

Ohamara, popularly called Debbie, died on 15 January from complications from an auto crash.

At the evening of tribute, Info FM Limited’s Chief Executive Officer, Serge Noujaim, described Debbie's death as heartbreaking, saying she left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.

Noujaim’s message was read by Info FM’s Group Programmes Director, Daniel Aboki.

He said Debbie’s contributions will be treasured forever and promised to facilitate a trust fund for her children's education.

“Serge went completely speechless when it was announced to him. The only thing he was able to gather himself to say was ‘heartbroken’ and he didn’t say anything else until the tribute today,” Aboki said of Noujaim’s reaction to Debbie’s death.

For his part, the Programmes Manager of Nigeria Info FM, Abuja, Femi Amele, described the late Deborah as a dedicated and accommodating colleague.

He, however, urged the staff to always reminisce on the memories and legacies that Debbie radiated while she was alive.

Media personalities, Civil Society groups, friends, family members, and fans paid their last respects to the late broadcaster.
