It appears there may be no end in sight yet to the tussle between Organized Labour and the Federal Government over the new minimum wage.
This is because the federal government's newest proposal of N60,000 has been turned down by the union who are insisting on N494,000
The latest rejection on Tuesday is the fourth proposal in about two weeks from the government since both parties began talks, although Organized Labour has budged from its initial ₦497,000 stance.
The government and the Organised Private Sector (OPS) had initially proposed ₦48,000 and ₦54,000 last week, sums which were rejected by the organised labour.
The Tripartite Committee set up for the negotiation of a new minimum wage for Nigerian workers now has just three days before the deadline issued to the government by the labour union for the conclusion of negotiations.
With that May 31st deadline approaching, Tuesday's meeting between both parties again ended without any agreement reached.
