The Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reassured residents that the blue and red line rail projects would be ready soon.
The governor gave the assurance during an Inspection of ongoing works on the blue line rail project and stations at the National Theatre in Iganmu, Orile.
He said the line is 90% complete and would be operational in the first quarter of 2023.
Two sets of four-train coaches are expected from China in September and October, and adequate security would be put in place at every station and platform with the use of CCTV.
The blue line rail would run on electric tracks, and the governor warned against walking on it.
He also condemned the level of vandalism along the rail corridors.
