The federal government says the Kaduna-Abuja rail service will resume operations this month.
The Minister of Transportation, Muazu Sambo disclosed this in Abuja on Monday while speaking on the ministry’s achievements from 2015 to date.
Mr. Sambo announced that the ministry has put adequate security along the rail line to ensure the safety of passengers and protect the rail infrastructure.
He did not give the date for the resumption of the rail service.
The Kaduna-Abuja line was closed in March after some passengers were killed and scores kidnapped by terrorists.
All the abducted passengers have been released following negotiations and the payment of ransoms.
