The Guinness World Record’s tweet announcing Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual) is its best-performing tweet.
The record-affirming organization disclosed this in a new tweet on Thursday.
It stated that its earlier tweet of 13 June had reached nearly 25 million news feeds.
“Yeah, so this is our best performing tweet of all time with nearly 25 million news feeds reached,” Guinness World Record (GWR) tweeted at 12:03 pm Nigerian time.

Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci set the new record for the longest cooking marathon with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes on 15 May 2023
Guinness World Record had earlier disclosed that its website crashed for two days after Nigerians visited the site en masse to demand the recognition of Hilda’s record-breaking feat.
The latest disclosure from GWR is coming as another Nigerian, Chef Dami cooked for 120 hours in Ekiti State.
She has, however, come under criticism for the timing of her cook-a-thon. Some critics say she should have waited for Chef Hilda to be properly recognized before embarking on her attempt while others say she did not follow the rules, as they claim she took a longer than approved break.
There are also concerns that she did not apply to GWR before attempting to break the cooking record.
What people don’t understand about Chef Dami’s attempt is

1. You have to apply and get the go ahead from GWR. I don’t think she got that.
2. You can’t attempt to break an award until 1 year after the award has been broken.
So people telling Dami to chill aren’t bad belle.
Nigerians y’all love eye service too much and pity party. I will not hype chef Dami to make you happy it’s like you are sick. She’s breaking a lot of rules and she didn’t prepare but y’all want me to hype nonsense because in your own word she’s from a low class and poor 🙄🙄🤣🤣

Chef Dami’s supporters have, however, lauded her bravery and countered that there was nothing wrong with her competing to beat Chef Hilda's record.
Even if Guinness World Book doesn't recognize you, through your uncommon doggedness, resilience and impressive performance, you have been able to globally create your own identity and record on "People's World Record Book".

Congratulations to Chef Dami. pic.twitter.com/uhf6wtwMIf
The difference between Damilola and Hilda is very obvious, Hilda's cook-a-thon was sponsored by different brands hence there was enough supply of foodstuffs but in chef Dami's case it's different because she's clearly the one funding this whole process. pic.twitter.com/M6gxhpksQj

Dreams are unique to each individual. Congratulations to Chef Dami. It didn't strike me she was serious about it, though, but I love the fact that she didn't allow you people's negative reactions to get to her. Whether she gets the GWR or not, she has dared to dream.
