The Nigerian federal government will meet with Northwest governors to work out an effective solution to insecurity in the region.
The minister of defense, Badaru Abubakar disclosed this on Monday in Katsina at a two-day Peace and Security Summit organized by the Northwest Governors' Forum and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
“In a few days, I assure you that we will all sit down with the governors, look at the outcome and recommendations on the issues in this summit,” Abubakar said.
“We will visit state-by-state with all the security agencies to look at the security situation and recommendations from this summit to proffer workable solutions toward ending insecurity in Nigeria.
“I know we can do it. We will finish this. Together, we will solve the problem of this insecurity,” he assured.
Abubakar said the Nigerian Armed Forces were dedicated to ending insecurity throughout Nigeria, not just in the Northwest.
