Emefiele will remain with the EFCC till Thursday, April 11 when the court will give its ruling on his bail application.

Presiding judge, Justice Rahman Oshodi also ordered that Emefiele’s co-defendant Henry Omoile be remanded at the Kirikiri Prison pending the court’s ruling on his bail on Thursday.

The court ordered the remand of both men after listening to the bail applications filed by their counsel AbdulHakeem Labi-Lawal.
During the bail hearing, the counsel urged the court to grant Emefiele bail on self-recognizance or on the most lenient terms until the case is heard and decided. Similar leniency was requested for the second defendant.

The EFCC counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, did not contest the bail request but urged the court to use its discretion in granting bail.
