The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded modalities for the mock deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in Ekiti State.
The exercise is part of measures to test-run logistics requirements for a hitch-free governorship election.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu stated this at the weekend, shortly after arriving at the Ekiti State capital, Ado-Ekiti.
He told reporters that the mock deployment will take place in Irepeju-Ifelodu in Ekiti Central, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti-North, and Ikere, in Ekiti-South Senatorial Districts.
Prof. Yakubu, who is expected to depart Ekiti State on Thursday, will meet traditional rulers, critical stakeholders, and the media.
He will also inspect INEC’s offices in the state to determine the level of preparedness for the election.
The Ekiti State governorship election will take place on 18 June.
