The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations
.The declaration was conveyed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Sunday and signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako.
In his message, the minister extended congratulations to all Muslim faithful for the successful culmination of the fasting period during the holy month of Ramadan.
He urged Muslims to embrace and uphold the values of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighbourliness, and compassion, mirroring the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of national unity, encouraging Nigerians to unite for the betterment of the country and to foster peace and harmony.
He conveyed warm wishes to all Muslim adherents for a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration and offered prayers for the continued peace, blessings, and favour of Allah upon everyone and the nation of Nigeria.
