In celebrating this year’s Eid el-Fitr celebration, the Federal Government has declared Friday, April 21, and Monday, April 24, 2023, as public holidays.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, through a statement released by the Permanent Secretary, Dr M.L. Shuaib Belgor, on Wednesday.
In his statement, the minister congratulated all Muslims on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and encouraged them to embrace the values of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, self-denial, sacrifice, and good neighborliness, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
He urged Muslims to maintain and improve upon the self-restraint, self-denial, sacrifice, and deep spiritual consciousness that accompanied the fasting period, in order to become better people and true worshippers.
