The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has narrowed down the list of presidential aspirants ahead of its Special Convention for Presidential Primary to five.
The aspirants are all from Southern Nigeria and they are:
- Bola Tinubu
- Rotimi Amaechi
- Yemi Osinbajo
- Dave Umahi
- Kayode Fayemi
It is unclear when the decision was reached but the governors met Monday night after an afternoon meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and a press conference thereafter.
The Monday night meeting was with members of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) National Working Committee (NWC).
The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu was absent at the meeting, but the governors went to his house in Abuja at about 9:30 pm after the meeting with the other members of the NWC.
The chairman of the PGF, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State confirmed the shortlist of five aspirants to Channels Television Tuesday morning.
