A Bill for an Act seeking to allow for the creation of state police and other state government security services has scaled second reading in the House of Representatives.

Luke stated that State Police will help to reduce crimes at the grassroots, by complementing the role of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies in crime control.

The lawmaker highlighted that the bill will enhance the security and preservation of lives and properties in Nigeria.

According to Luke, the bill seeks to move the legislation of policing from the house exclusive to the concurrent list.
