Arsenal delivered a stunning performance against Olympique Lyonnais, overturning a 2-1 first-leg deficit with a commanding 4-1 victory on Sunday night.

This win secured their place in the Women's Champions League final with a 5-3 aggregate victory, setting up a showdown with reigning champions FC Barcelona on May 24 in Lisbon.

The match saw Arsenal capitalizing on Lyon's defensive errors, marking their first final appearance in 18 years since their victory in 2007—a feat unmatched by any other English club. The game began unfavorably for Lyon when goalkeeper Christiane Endler's misjudged corner resulted in an own goal just five minutes in.

Arsenal's relentless high press troubled Lyon, leading to several turnovers. Mariona Caldentey doubled Arsenal's lead with a spectacular strike from the edge of the area just before halftime. The Gunners extended their advantage further when Alessia Russo scored within 30 seconds of the second half, capitalizing on Lyon's defensive mishaps.

The decisive blow came in the 63rd minute when Lyon's Vanessa Gilles slipped in her penalty area, allowing Caitlin Foord to seize the opportunity and score Arsenal's fourth goal. Although Lyon managed a consolation goal in the 81st minute through Melchie Dumornay, Arsenal expertly managed the closing stages to secure their place in the final.

Earlier, FC Barcelona showed their dominance by defeating Chelsea 4-1 in London, sealing an 8-2 aggregate win to reach the final. Barcelona aims to clinch their third consecutive title in the upcoming clash against Arsenal.
