A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail for ₦100 million each to former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, his daughter, his son-in-law and Al-Duraq Investment Limited who are facing trial over an alleged fraud amounting to ₦2.7 billion.

The court presided over by Justice Oriji, ruled that the defendants are required to provide two sureties each, who must possess landed properties within the capital city of Abuja.

The sureties are mandated to be reputable individuals within society and must testify to an affidavit of means.

The court also imposed restrictions on the defendants' travel, stipulating that they are not allowed to leave the country without prior permission from the court.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had filed a six-count amended charge to the tune of N2.7bn for alleged fraud and abuse of office.

Justice Oriji further ruled that should the defendants fail to meet the conditions of their bail, they will be remanded in prison custody pending further legal proceedings.

According to the bail conditions, the sureties must own landed properties within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with valid titles, ensuring substantial collateral for the bail bonds.

The trial proceeding is scheduled to commence on the 10th, 11th, and 20th of June.
