The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva has withdrawn from the 2023 Presidential race.
His Senior Special Assistant on Media, Horatius Egua confirmed to Nigeria Info on Monday that the Minister was in his office as usual.
Mr. Egua said the Minister may have taken the decision after consulting with his constituents.
Last Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari issued a May 16 deadline for all cabinet ministers and political appointees running for elective office to resign.
Most of the Ministers affected have resigned, but those of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Justice, Abubakar Malami; and Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen chose to quit their political ambitions and remain in office.
