A Rivers State PDP stakeholder, Sydney Gbara, has dismissed a recently circulated list of caretaker committee members as "concocted" and urged supporters to remain calm.
This comes after a list claiming to represent the new PDP leadership in the state appeared in a newspaper.
Gbara addressed the issue on Nigeria Info's Hard Facts with Kalada Batubo. He emphasized that the national leadership of the party had already established a caretaker committee structure, extending the terms of existing executives in states like Rivers.
“You see, the truth of the matter is this, no new situation has come up. If there are any new developments, the party will inform us. They have a way of reaching out to us, which they've always done,” he said.
He denounced the circulating list as an attempt to sow confusion and manipulate party members.
“We want to let whosoever that is behind this, to know that we have taken the decision of the people and that Rivers State should be left alone,” he added.
