Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial Adjourned To October 21

...FG cannot prosecute in Kanu's absence - Court

The trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, has been adjourned to October 21.

The IPOB leader faces treason and other charges.

The presiding judge adjourned the case after counsel to the Federal Government, M.D. Abubakar requested to prosecute the case without Kanu physically being in court.

Responding to the prosecution’s prayer, the trial judge held that the trial cannot proceed without Kanu being physically present.

There had been tight security around the Federal High Court and only ten media agencies were allowed to cover the proceedings.
