The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) says reports that COVID-19 vaccines create a magnetic effect around the vaccination site or any part of the body are untrue.

The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) says reports that COVID-19 vaccines create a magnetic effect around the vaccination site or any part of the body are untrue.

NPHCDA Executive Director, Faisal Shuaib, at a media briefing in Abuja said: “Today, as we all can see, nearly 4 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in Nigeria and we’ve not recorded any case of death linked to the vaccination.”

He also revealed that as of Monday, 2,495,632 people had been vaccinated with the first dose; while 1,370,130 had received their second dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Nigeria.

Shuaib said Nigeria has successfully utilized 3.9 million doses, representing 96 per cent of the 4,024,000 doses of the vaccines received in the country.
