Nigerian Singer, Davido deleted a snippet of a music video he tweeted last week after it became controversial.
The video showed Muslim men dancing in front of a mosque as a singer sat and sang on the roof of the mosque.
Davido came under fire from some Muslims who complained that the video, promoting a song by his mentee, was offensive.
One such person was Bashir Ahmad, the former new media aide to former president, Muhammadu Buhari.
There are many reasons why every Muslim finds this content absolutely disrespectful, hurtful and offensive @davido. I assume you all know that we Muslims don't mix our religion with jokes in any way, especially Salah (prayer), which is sacred and the second of the five pillars of… https://t.co/ql3ZOxTx53

The complainers want Davido to go steps further by apologizing and not releasing the video.
Ahmad has asked the award-winning singer to remove the entire “offensive” scene before releasing the song.
It is good to discover that Davido deleted that offensive and hurtful video. Hopefully, the entire scene will also be deleted from the actual footage before releasing it to the market, and we humbly urge that the same grave mistake should never happen again from him or anyone…

A former lawmaker, Shehu Sani, believes it is only right for Davido to take down the video and apologize to the offended persons.

Some other Twitter users also want him to apologize.
Davido hasn't apologized to Muslims, but instead he's trying to suppress the issue by donating $10k to a lady who returned a misplaced $70k. This is also coming from someone who's yet to fulfil the N20m promise he made to entrepreneurs since 2022. It costs nothing to say sorry.

You did the right thing taking down that video. All that’s left is for you to apologize for disrespecting millions of Muslims
