President Bola Tinubu has signed the new national minimum wage bill into law, establishing N70,000 as the new minimum wage in the country.
The signing took place during a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, which Tinubu presided over.
The bill had been swiftly passed by both houses of the National Assembly the previous week.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, along with other members of the National Assembly leadership, joined the FEC for the signing ceremony.
