The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom where he had spent the last 12 days.
He landed on a jet in Abuja on Thursday night and was welcomed by senior members of his party, including his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
Asiwaju Tinubu’s almost two-week stay in the UK caused concern back home as not a few people believed he was receiving medical treatment.
Supporters of opposition candidates insinuated he was too sick to run for president and “Where is Tinubu” trended on Twitter.
He was the only presidential candidate who missed the signing of a peace accord in Abuja on 29 September where he was represented by Mr. Shettima.
As questions grew over his whereabouts, his campaign team released a picture of him cycling at home.
Many have said I have died; others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign.

Well... Nope.
This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy and I am READY to serve Nigerians from Day One.#BAT23 pic.twitter.com/qqPkgSDYjs
It turned out to be an old picture.
Another picture showing him reading an old newspaper was also shared on his personal Twitter handle just hours before he landed in Abuja.
