Tinubu Dismisses Five Ministers, Reshuffles Cabinet

President Bola Tinubu has relieved five ministers of their duties as part of a significant cabinet reshuffle aimed at boosting the administration’s efficiency and effectiveness. The affected ministers include:

  •  Prof. Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education
  •  Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs
  •  Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism
  • Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development
  •  Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development

The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, who also revealed that a list of new ministerial appointees has been forwarded to the National Assembly for confirmation.

Newly Appointed Ministers

The new ministers nominated for confirmation include:

  •  Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
  •  Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi – Minister of Labour and Employment
  •  Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu – Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
  • Dr. Jumoke Oduwole – Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment
  •  Idi Mukhtar Maiha – Minister of Livestock Development
  •  Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata – Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development
  • Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad – Minister of State for Education

Ministerial Reassignments
In addition to the newly appointed ministers, several current ministers were reassigned to new portfolios:

  •  Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, previously Minister of State for Education, is now the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
  • Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa, previously Minister of State for Health, has been appointed as the new Minister of Education.
  •  Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, previously Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation, is now the Minister of State for Works.
  •  Hon. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh, formerly Minister of Niger Delta Development, is now the Minister of Regional Development.
  • Maigari Ahmadu, Minister of State for Steel Development, has been reassigned to the role of Minister of State for Regional Development.
  •  Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, previously Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, is now the Minister of State for Finance.
  • Sen. John Owan Enoh, previously Minister of Sports Development, is now the Minister of State for Trade and Investment (Industry).
  •  Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, formerly Minister of State for Police Affairs, is now the Minister of Women Affairs.
  • Ayodele Olawande, formerly Minister of State for Youth Development, now serves as the Minister for Youth Development.
  •  Dr. Salako Iziaq Adekunle Adeboye, previously Minister of State for Environment, is now the Minister of State for Health.

President Tinubu thanked the outgoing ministers for their service and expressed his confidence that the newly appointed and reassigned ministers would rise to the challenge of delivering on the administration's priorities for Nigeria’s growth and development.
