Yusuf Sulaiman, a resident of Danbatta GRA in Kano State is smiling again following a successful spinal cord surgery for an injury he sustained after he was hit by a speeding car.
Nigeria Info published Sulaiman’s story in its special report of 20 June 2023, highlighting that the victim could not afford the N80,000 demanded by the Dala Orthopedic Hospital for his surgery.
After the report, Sulaiman got help from philanthropists who donated the money through an account number owned by one Sulaiman Yusuf Maitama, a Kano-based social media influencer and blogger.
Sulaiman, who could not feel his legs for the past six months told Nigeria Info that the limbs are functioning again following the successful surgery.
“So, after the story was published, we started receiving support across the state, and when we got the amount the hospital needs for the surgery, we rushed down and paid,” he said.
“I am feeling better now because I can feel my legs and other parts of my body again”.
Sulaiman will leave the hospital after his treatment and is grateful to the donors, Cool FM, Wazobia FM, and Nigeria Info/Arewa Radio.
