The Nigerian Police Force and the National Orientation Agency have pledged to work together toward a stable and peaceful Nigeria where citizens are patriotic and volunteer for programs that promote unity.
A key part of the strategy will be unveiling the National Values Charter, which enshrines the fundamental principles to guide every citizen’s conduct, with each member of the Police Force exemplifying the characteristics of an ideal Nigerian citizen.
This was disclosed on Wednesday when the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, hosted the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, at the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement from the Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the NOA DG emphasized the mutual responsibility of the police and the citizens in ensuring a stable and peaceful society while the police IGP pledged his force’s support of the NOA’s goal.
IGP Egbetokun emphasized that the police will work with the NOA to implement strategies to enhance public awareness campaigns focusing on civic duties.
