President Bola Tinubu has referred to his tumble during the Democracy Day parade at Eagle Square on Wednesday as a swag.
He made a lighthearted statement during the Democracy Day Dinner in Abuja on Wednesday night, stating that he had to "dobale to celebrate" democracy as a Yoruba boy.
“Early this morning I had a swagger and it’s on social media, they are confused whether I was doing buga or babanriga but it is a day to celebrate democracy while doing dobale for the day,” President Tinubu said.
“I’m a traditional Yoruba boy, I did my dobale.”
The president missed his step and fell as he ascended the presidential parade vehicle to reach Eagle Square.
The fall was televised live and a video of the incident quickly went viral.
