The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has debunked media reports that its warehouse in Abuja was looted on Sunday.
NEMA's spokesman, Manzo Ezekiel, told Nigeria Info on the phone that the looted facility does not belong to the agency.
He, however, empathized with the owners of the warehouse.
Yet-to-be-identified persons carted bags of grain from the warehouse in Karimo, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, on Sunday.
Many media organizations reported that the building belonged to NEMA but Nigeria Info’s findings showed it was the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s.
In the meantime, NEMA's Director General, Mustapha Ahmed, has directed the agency’s Zonal Directors and Operations Heads to ramp up security in and around its offices and warehouses nationwide.
