Public affairs analyst, Jimi Disu, says it is not surprising that the United States and the United Kingdom have refused to be present at the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
Mr Disu's comments come as Kanu’s trial resumes today at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The UK and US, in separate responses, confirmed to THE PUNCH that they do not consider it appropriate to attend.
Disu believes Kanu’s party shouldn’t have bothered requesting foreign presence at the trial as it serves no purpose given that he is a dual citizen and Kanu “cannot be a foreigner in his own country”.
