Nigeria Info FM's Chidiebere Anugwolu has made the top ten shortlist for the International Sports Press Association’s yearly awards for sports journalism excellence.
Popularly known as the “Ezemmuo Of Sports” for his unique and sensational style with the station’s sports team, "Femi and the Gang," Chidiebere made the shortlist for a second successive year with his debut documentary, “Social Media Footballer.”
He won the Covid-19 young reporter category in the 2020 edition.
He is now the only Nigerian sports journalist to make the shortlist for either of the categories this year.
The AIPS awards recognise works from sports journalists around the world, and this year's edition received over 1,700 entries in all categories from 133 countries.
The top three announcements will be made on 23 May with winners announced on 11 June in Doha, Qatar.
