The traditional ruler of Isu community in Ebonyi State, Chief Ambrose Ogbu, has been kidnapped.
He was taken from his palace on Thursday, according to the police.
“It happened in Isu, Onicha. The fact now is that we have yet to get the full details,” the spokesman of the Ebonyi State Police Command, Chris Anyanwu said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), quotes a family source as saying that the monarch was kidnappedalongside his gatekeeper between around 8 pm on Wednesday.
“He was kidnapped in his palace. The kidnappers came with motorcycles in their numbers and ordered the gateman to call the chief out.
“As Chief was coming out, the kidnappers collected his Hundai SUV car key and immediately forced him into the car and drove away,” the source was reported to have said.
