FATG FAN BATTLE 3: Prosper Shines as Round of 16 Commences.

The Femi & the Gang Fan Battle knockout stages began on Monday as the 16 remaining contestants battled for the grand prize of N1 million.

In the first battle of the night, it was Prosper Ubani against Monsurah ‘Molat’ Olatunji, with the duo renewing their rivalry having met earlier in the competition.

The topic on the night was “Cristiano Ronaldo requesting to leave Manchester United: cowardice or entitlement?”

Manchester United gave Ronaldo the platform for what he has built today hence he owes them, Prosper said, adding that deciding to leave the club at such a crucial time is nothing but cowardice.

Molat, in her reply noted that Ronaldo is called ‘Mr. Champions League’ for a reason.

She also noted his contributions to United in the 2021/22 season where he emerged as the top scorer with 24 goals in all competitions.

Five minutes of head-to-head followed, after which both contestants had two minutes each to drive home their points.

It was then up to the callers, the panel and social media.

Prosper took the call votes and all the votes from the judges, with Molat winning the votes from social media.

A comfortable victory on the night for Prosper ensured his passage to the next round while this meant the end of the road for Molat who battled well on the night, giving us a strong contest that’ll surely not be forgotten.

The second battle followed thereafter between Daniel Nwagbogwu and Kelechi Onuoha.

The topic for debate was “Equal pay for men and women in football: Yes or No?”

Kelechi argued against equal pay, citing that the revenue generation of men’s football is way higher than that of women.

Daniel, in his opening, mentioned that FIFA is not a profit-based organization and their mission is to grow football.

He stated that men’s football is what it is because of the level of attention given to it.

The head-to-head followed, after which both contestants had two minutes each to conclude.

Voting was next as Daniel picked up votes from the callers and two of the judges with Kelechi getting the votes from social media and one of the judges.

60%-40% the final scoreline in Daniel’s favour.

Prosper and Daniel progress, and will face each other in the quarterfinals next week.
