The former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has died at the age of 85.
Announcing this in a statement on behalf of the Ezeife family, Chief Rob Nwakaire Ezeife said Dr. Ezeife passed away at 6 pm on Thursday at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja.
He said further details about the late former governor and arrangements for a state burial will be released later.
The late Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife was a former Federal Permanent Secretary, the first Executive Governor of Anambra State between 1992 and 1993, a former Presidential Adviser on Political Matters to President Obasanjo, and a one-time presidential aspirant.
He hails from Igbo-Ukwu, Anambra State.
