The federal government has added Thursday, 11 April as a public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.
Last week, the government declared Tuesday and Wednesday as public holidays, but the new moon, heralding the start of Eid, was not sighted on Monday.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako announced the extension of the public holidays in a statement on Tuesday.
The statement quoted the Interior Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, restating President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive.
